About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecology professional to lead our national team of ecologists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and developing our ecological profile, capability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an overview of current projects involving ecology and new prospects.
  • Manage ecology workload and forward planning of resource requirements.
  • Manage training plans and budgets.
  • Provide technical leadership on all stages of Ecological Impact Assessment and design.
  • Ensure that work is completed following the most up-to-date guidance and legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the business as the ecology point of contact.
  • Provide technical input into tenders.
  • Lead surveys in your technical specialism.
  • Ensure Binnies maintain our CIEEM Registered Ecology Practice accreditation.
Requirements
  • Be a chartered member of CIEEM.
  • Experience in a wide range of survey methods for protected species and habitats.
  • Have proven experience in ecological impact assessment, ideally including for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
  • Have excellent written and reviewing skills.
  • Have a thorough understanding of ecological legislative and planning policy framework.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
