Position Overview
Join NatWest as a Lead BIM Specialist. This role presents an exciting opportunity to design and develop software with a strong emphasis on user experience.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead BIM Specialist, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer outcomes through innovative engineering solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the bank's software engineering capabilities.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to build and maintain valuable relationships.
  • Creating and implementing software designs that prioritize automation, security, and performance.

What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
  • Design and develop software solutions that address both existing and emerging challenges.
  • Work alongside software engineers to prototype and produce innovative ideas.
  • Engage with architects to ensure alignment with broader architectural frameworks.
  • Focus on automating build, test, and deployment processes to enhance software engineering practices.

Additional Responsibilities
You will also be responsible for:
  • Defining and overseeing engineering and design solutions with an emphasis on automation and resilience.
  • Collaborating within a platform or feature team to engineer complex software and tools.
  • Developing architectural models and roadmaps to meet both business and technical needs.
  • Applying Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in software development.

Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Extensive experience in software engineering and architecture.
  • Proficiency in developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework.
  • Experience with Microservices and Cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS Services.

Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A strong background in leading software development teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience in designing or implementing APIs.
  • Familiarity with code repositories and bug tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring, Docker, REST, and PostgreSQL.
