We are actively seeking a Lead Financial Strategy Partner to join our dynamic team, focusing on our Rail division. This pivotal role is essential in cultivating a collaborative and high-achieving atmosphere, aimed at providing precise, relevant, and timely financial reporting and integrated support to operational and enabling functions.

Role Objective

The ideal candidate will oversee the financial operations within the region, ensuring accuracy in reporting, adherence to regulatory and internal standards, and the implementation of effective internal controls. You will provide strategic business partner support, leveraging strong financial acumen and leadership skills to enhance financial performance and drive growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver business partner support to the regional senior leadership team through comprehensive monthly reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and collaboration on strategic planning.
  • Mentor and supervise the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, while offering training and development opportunities.
  • Oversee the month-end process, including timelines, reconciliations, project EAC approvals, revenue recognition, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Manage project status reporting, ensuring accuracy in finish dates, billing plans, and forecasting through diligent oversight of the project review process.
  • Provide financial and commercial insights for bidding and pricing, ensuring that proposals are risk-assessed and commercially viable to enhance the chances of success.
  • Participate in Business Unit Reviews, utilizing PSR details to validate year-to-date results and maintain a register of risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee working capital management, including forecasting, cash tracking, and strategies for AROC/Debtor improvement.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with the business to establish targets and monitor performance for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure senior management oversight on all internal and external audits, incorporating necessary governance requirements.
  • Review and approve statutory and group reporting requirements, overseeing intercompany, transfer pricing, and cross-charging processes.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to drive continuous enhancements in financial processes and systems, sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
