We are in search of a Lead Financial Strategy Partner to join our dynamic team, supporting our Rail division. This pivotal role is essential in cultivating a collaborative and high-achieving atmosphere, focused on delivering precise, relevant, and timely financial reporting and integrated support to operational and enabling functions.

Role Objective

The chosen candidate will oversee the financial operations within the region, ensuring the accuracy of reporting, adherence to regulatory and internal standards, and the establishment of effective internal controls. This role demands a strategic thinker with substantial financial acumen and leadership skills to enhance financial performance and support growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Business Partner support to the regional senior leadership team through comprehensive monthly reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and collaboration on strategic planning.
  • Mentor and supervise the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance, while providing training and development opportunities.
  • Oversee the month-end process, including the timetable, reconciliations, project EAC approvals, revenue recognition, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Manage project status reporting, ensuring accuracy in finish dates, billing plans, and forecasting through oversight of the project review process.
  • Provide financial and commercial insights for bidding and pricing, ensuring that bids are risk-assessed and commercially viable to enhance success rates.
  • Participate in Business Unit Reviews, utilizing PSR details to validate year-to-date results and maintain a register of risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee working capital management, including forecasting, cash tracking, and strategies for improving AROC/Debtor performance.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with the business to establish targets and monitor performance for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure Senior Management oversight on all Internal and External Audits, incorporating internal governance requirements.
  • Review and approve statutory and group reporting requirements, including oversight of intercompany, transfer pricing, and cross-charging processes.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to drive continuous improvements in financial processes and systems, sharing knowledge and expertise as necessary.
