Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer to lead our General X-ray department at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Superintendent Radiographer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Department Management: Oversee the management and operational issues of the General X-ray department, including cone beam CT and DEXA service.
  • Patient Focused Service: Promote and deliver a highly tailored patient-focused service, ensuring high standards of patient care and an imaging service responsive to patient needs.
  • Waiting List Management: Regularly monitor and manage waiting lists, working proactively to reduce waits and ensure compliance with government guidelines.
  • Staff Management: Provide professional line management to static and rotational radiographic staff, including administrative staff, and conduct Personal Development Reviews to ensure staff are fulfilling their work requirements.
  • Clinical Imaging Duties: Undertake clinical imaging duties as required.
Requirements
  • Academic Qualifications: BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Professional Qualifications: HDCR, MSc in Diagnostic Radiography or significant experience acquired in Diagnostic Radiography to master's level or equivalent.
  • Registration: HCPC Radiographer Registration.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrable experience in leadership, including teaching and supervising junior diagnostic imaging professionals.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and awareness of clinical governance, quality assurance, UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), IRR (17), and IR(ME)R 2017. Working knowledge of PACS and Electronic Records System (EPIC) system.
