About the Company

Blue Spark Organisation Ltd is a leading manufacturer of pioneering food products for major retailers. We are seeking a driven Product Development Manager to lead our development team and help us retain our reputation for high-quality products.

The Role

This customer-focused role will see you as the driving force from concept to launch. Working from set briefs, you will ensure that new ranges are in line with customer requirements. You will oversee the product development process, managing concept development in line with customer schedules and critical paths, coordinating factory trials to guarantee technical and commercial parameters are satisfied.

You will also be responsible for refreshing the existing portfolio to ensure the company continues to outstrip the competition. Proactive and resourceful in your approach, you will guide your team in identifying the latest food and consumer trends, communicating findings as appropriate to introduce an exciting offering into the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product development strategies to meet customer requirements
  • Manage concept development and factory trials to ensure technical and commercial parameters are satisfied
  • Refresh the existing portfolio to maintain market competitiveness
  • Identify and communicate the latest food and consumer trends to the development team
  • Lead and encourage a team to reach their maximum potential

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Product Development Manager with a proven record of driving innovation within a food category, supported by a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. You will have previous success in delivering results from concept to launch. People management skills are also essential, as you will be leading and encouraging a team to reach their maximum potential.

You will be comfortable working in a customer-facing role, drawing upon your previous experience of managing key retail accounts. You will couple this with strong presentation skills, in order to build rapport with key stakeholders, all while communicating key information with passion and ease.
