Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
  • Oversee bank reconciliation work, including new virtual client accounts for deposits
  • Reconcile external agent statements
  • Perform quarter-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare quarter-end journals from Qube data
  • Produce quarterly management accounts
  • Conduct sub-consolidations by asset class, focusing on the residential portfolio
  • Analyze property P&Ls on an ad-hoc basis
  • Verify completeness of tenant recharges
  • Prepare commercial arrears reports for internal meetings
  • Examine new lettings and renewals
  • Generate monthly tenancy summaries
Covenant Reporting
  • Assist in quarterly reporting for bank loan covenants
  • Prepare property reports (new leases, renewals, tenant breaks, rent reviews, etc.)
  • Review the EPC register periodically
Statutory Reporting and Tax
  • Prepare Corporation Tax analysis packs for the external tax compliance team
  • Collate information for capital allowance reviews
  • Support the provision of information to external auditors
Qube Database
  • Act as a database administrator once trained, with restricted access
  • Process 'data change forms' from surveyors
  • Review database accuracy and uniformity
Systems and Longer-Term Projects
  • Integrate complementary MRI Qube products
Requirements
  • Accountant (ACA or ACCA) qualification
  • Experience with a smaller firm of accountants, extending beyond audit (accounts preparation, tax, etc.)
  • 1-5 years of post-qualification experience, either in practice or commerce
  • Desirable: real estate experience/knowledge
  • Strong double-entry booking skills
  • Essential: strong Excel skills (pivots and lookups 'second-nature')
  • 'Hands-on' / 'completer-finisher' approach
  • Takes ownership of work
  • Presents financial information clearly and accurately
  • Analytical mind to review financials and identify errors, omissions, and opportunities
  • Confidence to challenge the status-quo and recommend improvements to systems and processes
