Role: Youth Housing Support SpecialistWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Youth Housing Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in preventing homelessness among young people by providing comprehensive support, guidance, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment & Support: Provide high-quality information, advice, and signposting to young people facing housing challenges. Process referrals, conduct thorough assessments of their needs and risks, and develop personalized housing plans.
- Home Visit & Mediation: Conduct home visits, mediate between young people and their families, and facilitate positive relationships to prevent homelessness. Utilize assessment tools to identify needs and create evidence-based plans.
- Advocacy: Empower young people by explaining housing processes, advocating for their rights, and connecting them with relevant support services. Provide guidance on benefits, specialist support, and housing legislation.
We are looking for an individual with:
- A strong understanding of housing rights, welfare reform, and relevant legislation (e.g., Housing Act, Homelessness Reduction Act).
- Experience working with young people in settings such as social work, probation, community work, education, or training.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
