Position Overview

Role Description

The Royal Naval Distribution Authority (RNDA) operates under the Base Security Organisation and is directly accountable to the base's leadership.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong judgment and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. The Alternate Crypto Custodian will collaborate with both naval and civilian teams, ensuring meticulous oversight of all cryptographic materials. This includes the secure handling, distribution, and disposal of cryptographic items, with a focus on maintaining accurate records and control measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the receipt, storage, issuance, and return of cryptographic equipment.
  • Providing expert guidance to naval personnel and shore establishments.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to offer after-hours support, which includes additional compensation.
  • Assisting the Crypto Custodian in the daily operations of the RNDA.

Candidate Profile

This dynamic position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift frequently. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and possess excellent communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of the Crypto Custodian course within the first year of employment.
