Income Protection Claims Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Income Protection Claims Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our claims administration team, you will be responsible for providing a proactive and comprehensive claims administration service for our Income Protection claims team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Administration: Prepare and set up new claims, ensuring appropriate documentation is issued, and requesting medical evidence on new and existing Income Protection claims.
- Claims Review: Ensure that claims are reviewed in line with targeted dates as specified during the assessment process.
- Relationship Building: Develop and build effective relationships with Policyholders and IFA's to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes.
- Management Information: Assist in the provision of Management Information on the block of business to analyse performance and identify key trends.
- Service Delivery: Ensure a consistent, timely, and accurate level of service is maintained in line with service level agreements and promises made to meet customers' expectations.
- Complaints and Breaches: Identify complaints and breaches and refer them on appropriately.
- Invoice Management: Raise and authorise payment of invoices within individual authorisation limits as agreed by the Head of Claims.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of core Income Protection products, good knowledge of Legal & General's claims processes and procedures, understanding of the investigative and rehabilitation services provided by external organisations, and understanding of State Incapacity Benefits.
- Personal Qualities: The drive to take ownership of and resolve customer queries and complaints, excellent IT skills in Word, Excel, and other Microsoft products, and an ability to work to deadlines and targets.
