We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Technician to join our team at The University of Manchester. The successful candidate will support our research activities in microbial evolution, genetic engineering, and biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities:- Support research activities using classical breeding strategies, gene knock-outs, and high-throughput screenings.
- Conduct phenotyping using robotic platforms.
- Collaborate with our team to evolve new promising hosts for isobutanol production.
- Qualification at QCF level 6 (such as a bachelor's degree) in Microbial Evolution, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or related biological science subject.
- Or QCF level 2 passes (such as GCSE's) in English and Mathematics and at least one Science subject and extensive relevant experience of working in a research laboratory.
