Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

This is a research position available in the Dust research group at the University of Manchester to work on a project funded by Rolls-Royce. The project aims to develop a model relating the evolution of mineral dust composition through aircraft engines to the environment in which the aircraft has operated.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or MSc in Geology, Materials Science or a related discipline, and familiarity with the methods used to determine the mineralogy and/or particle size and shape characteristics of sediments.

The position is a 12-month full-time role, funded by Rolls-Royce, and will be based in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with PhD, postdoctoral and academic researchers working on various aspects of mineral dust ingestion in aircraft engines.

The University of Manchester offers a range of benefits, including a fantastic pension scheme, excellent employee health and wellbeing services, and exceptional annual leave entitlement.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, sex, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
