Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Infrastructure team at Walsh - Structural, Civil & Geotechnical Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the design input on civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design input on civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, and infrastructure projects
  • Work on projects with an overall value up to £50M, with opportunities to work on larger projects with a value of >£50M
  • Liaise and coordinate with other members of the Walsh team and external consultants
  • Attend regular coordination workshops both internally and externally
  • Develop and implement new technologies such as Infraworks and Navisworks

Requirements

  • Experience designing development infrastructure, particularly drainage
  • Experience on residential projects, particularly inner city developments
  • Good technical background and grounding in the design of drainage, pavement design, and roads
  • Experience with computer packages such as XP Microdrainage/Windes, Civils 3D, Autodesk Infraworks, Navisworks, NBS Create, and BREEAM/CfSH

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are degree qualified with a MEng in Civil Engineering suitable for CEng status
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with an engineering-related degree if they have relevant post-graduate experience
