About the Role

We are seeking three compassionate and caring individuals to join our Community Mental Health Teams as Carers Support Workers. As a Carers Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting and improving the wellbeing of families and carers of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the team in supporting and improving the wellbeing of families and carers
  • Provide collaborative carer-centred care with a focus on recovery
  • Work with carers to empower them and improve their understanding of mental health needs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carers, service users, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of carer-centred care plans and interventions
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, group reflective practice, and training opportunities to ensure continuing professional development

Person Specification

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Level of educational attainment to NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience
  • Current driver's license and use of a car (access to means of mobility to travel across the Trust according to service needs)
  • Knowledge of mental health problems and experience of working with carers or in mental health
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
