About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Medical Director to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our Executive Board, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Governance: Provide strategic leadership and direction to our medical workforce, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of medical practice and patient care.
  • Professional Development: Develop and implement strategies to support the professional development of our medical staff, including coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with partners in the community and health and social care system, including the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS), GPs, health organizations, interest groups, and patient reference groups.
  • Culture and Values: Promote an organizational culture committed to learning, teamwork, and excellence, and ensure that our PRIDE values are embedded throughout the organization.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Registration with the GMC, qualified medical professional, membership of the GMC Specialist Register, and further evidence of management training.
  • Experience: Extensive experience gained as a consultant, significant clinical and managerial leadership experience, knowledge and experience of clinical governance, experience of service innovation and development, knowledge of revalidation, evidence of cross-professional working, strategic and business planning experience, experience of managing budgets, and experience of implementing national and statutory requirements.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to think conceptually and communicate effectively, strong decision-making skills, ability to engage and involve senior staff across disciplines, articulate a clear personal vision, understands different perspectives of stakeholders, can build effective relationships with key partners, can deal with conflict in a balanced and open way, can develop strong networks within and outside of NNUH, strong persuasive and influencing skills, excellent written communication skills, clear analytical skills, inspires others and leads by example, ability to mediate/negotiate between different interest groups, flexibility, and exemplary personal standards of conduct and behavior.
