Head of Technology Risk & Compliance

At Primark, we're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Head of Technology Risk & Compliance. This is a key leadership role within our Technology department, reporting to the Chief Technology Security & Risk Officer (CTSRO).

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring technology risk is effectively managed, that the technology we operate is compliant with all laws and regulations, and that we operate a robust technology controls environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership, oversight, and development of technology risk and compliance practices.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to establish team priorities, goals, and objectives in support of business strategies.
  • Supporting the development of the Security & Risk strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensuring Primark Tech maintains operational compliance to key regulations such as payments and GDPR.
  • Developing the risk appetite of Primark Tech with its leadership team in collaboration with the enterprise risk function.
  • Own and mature the IT risk management framework.
  • Support business and departmental strategies by setting risk objectives.
  • Report and recommend risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience demonstrating increased responsibility in the technology risk and controls domains in complex environments, including controls attestation. They will also have a strong understanding of various control frameworks and regulatory requirements, such as COBIT, NIST-CSF, ISO, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Privacy (CCPA, GDPR, etc.), and other leading practice frameworks.

They will be able to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and actionable manner. They will also have an understanding of business needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to stakeholders.
