The Project
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team on the Sizewell C project, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in one of the largest megaprojects in the UK, playing a key role in our energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges, and mitigations.
- Support the long-term development of your function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
- Commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
- Manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
- Lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
- Demonstrable project management success on delivering utilities (power, natural gas, portable water, foul water, telecommunications) solutions in respect to new connections, disconnections, diversions, and protections within a technically complex and dynamic environment while ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental.
- Working knowledge of service avoidance and Safe digging practice, in accordance with HSG 47.
- Demonstrable thorough understanding of utilities Builder Work in Connection (BWIC) and CDM regulations.
- Comfortable in the co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams made up of designers, contractors, internal and external stakeholders, local authorities, and community liaison representatives.
- Ability in making sound decisions based on understanding of project criticality and best for project outcomes.
- Experience building lasting client relationships and leading strong, motivated teams.
Desirable Qualifications
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the utilities sector.
- Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
- Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
