POSITION OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will take on the role of BCG Program Coordinator, focusing on the promotion, execution, and management of the BCG immunization initiative as part of the School-Aged Immunisation Service, providing support to nursing staff in both clinical and administrative settings.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the infant BCG immunization initiative.
  • Encourage collaborative efforts between the team and families to ensure effective delivery of the immunization program.
  • Ensure compliance with the necessary protocols for storing and transporting immunizations, as well as the processes for collecting and delivering vaccinations.
  • Maintain accurate databases to ensure that records are current and that data is communicated to General Practitioners as instructed by the BCG Coordinators.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all administrative responsibilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the cold chain, ordering supplies, and potentially coordinating the transport of vaccinations.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute constructively.
  • Perform additional duties as required that align with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of GCSE level education or equivalent, with at least a grade 'C' in both English and Maths.
  • Experience working in community settings (such as schools) and/or with children and young people is desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently.
  • Assertive, collaborative team player with strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in IT skills.
  • Driving capability is desirable.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
