Position Summary
This is a full-time field-based position for a Security Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be tasked with servicing, upgrading, and installing security systems across diverse environments such as residential, commercial, industrial, and educational sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The Security Systems Engineer will:
- Perform maintenance and servicing of security systems.
- Conduct upgrades and takeovers of existing systems.
- Install small-scale security solutions.
- Configure and troubleshoot both hardware and software components.
- Ensure compatibility of new systems with existing infrastructure.
- Provide support and guidance to customers on the operation of their new systems.
- Participate in the emergency call-out rota, providing 24-hour support as needed.
Reporting Structure
The Service Engineer will report directly to the Technical Director.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the maintenance and servicing of security systems.
- Experience with CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm Systems; familiarity with Fire Alarms is a plus.
- An understanding of network security protocols and best practices.
- Knowledge of equipment from manufacturers such as Scantronic, Texecom, Eaton, Honeywell, HiK Vision, Adpro, ACT, and Paxton.
- A strong grasp of project management and health & safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer support.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Employer references and DBS Screening.
- A clean UK driving license.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from £28,000 to £35,000, supplemented by standby increments, overtime, a company vehicle, and pension contributions. The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
