Job Title: Infrastructure and Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal network infrastructure systems, as well as providing technical expertise to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network architectures, including IP addressing, VLANs, routing, and VRFs.
  • Provide technical input to proposals and bids, describing technology solutions to customers in terms of capability and business value.
  • Assist in creating technical content and providing or reviewing content for marketing literature.
  • Undertake network design and configuration of LAN/WAN/Firewall/Wi-Fi deployments, aligning solution configuration to customer needs.
  • Help facilitate the integration of solutions into existing customer networks.
  • Provide subject matter expert knowledge to cover the complete deployment lifecycle of a solution, including determining customer requirements, scoping the project, and preparing requirements documentation.
  • Assist the Operations Team in the support and maintenance of secure communications solutions, including knowledge sharing, customer and technology handover, and planning and supporting major changes for customer networks.
Requirements:
  • A strong drive to help customers towards their goal of providing robust, secure network communications for their staff.
  • Customer-focused attitude, good written and verbal skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build customer rapport, demonstrate solution capabilities to customers, and convey issues or project progress in a clear manner.
  • Academic record to degree level, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Willingness to share information with peers and junior team members.
  • Self-starter able to research and experiment to find a solution with minimal guidance and interest in finding ways to make technologies produce a required output.
  • Strong foundational understanding of the principles of networking, including IP addressing, VLANs, routing, and VRFs.
