About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Calculations Governance Manager to join our team at BMW Group Financial Services UK. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the management of financially related calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant governance regulations and FCA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculations Governance Framework Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive calculations governance framework, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial soundness of all calculations.
  • Calculations Mapping and Repository: Create a centralized repository of calculations, mapping all calculations in line with the newly created calculations governance framework.
  • Ongoing Governance and Validation: Continuously validate calculations associated with processes, financial products, and services, ensuring ownership among business, process, system, and product owners.
  • Customer Remediation Support: Provide analysis, validation, and rationale for customer remediation where calculations have not delivered expected and planned customer outcomes.
  • Governance Management Roadmap: Develop a future roadmap for calculations governance management, collaborating with business, process, system, and product owners.
  • Governance Relationship Management: Manage relevant governance relationships and stay up-to-date with new legislation, guidelines, policies, and processes in the automotive, financial, and fleet industries.
  • Calculations Expert Role: Be recognized as a calculations expert, providing calculation-related expertise, training, coaching, and mentoring to business, process, and product owners.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business, process, system, and product owners, as well as pricing, finance, risk, legal, compliance, and IT to support the implementation of suitable controls, mitigating identified business risks.
Requirements
  • Strong academic background in mathematics or accounting, or extensive experience in financial modeling and data interrogation.
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, calculations, and data analysis, with the ability to accurately interrogate, interpret, and translate financial calculations.
  • Knowledgeable in finance-related systems, databases, and accounting principles.
  • Working understanding of specialist financial modeling tools/systems, data analysis tools/systems, and/or associated financial software/systems.
  • Experienced in financial calculation and modeling, with leadership exposure.
  • Keen interest in mathematical formulas, modeling, pricing, and governance alignment.
  • Experience or exposure in financial governance, using Lean, Agile, or similar methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and flexible communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong prioritization and workload management skills, with a self-motivated and collaborative approach.
  • Commercial awareness and customer-centricity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of fleet management and quotation systems, such as Fleetware, ICON, FAMOS, and SEAL, is advantageous but not essential.
