BMW Group Financial Services UK is seeking a highly skilled Financial Calculations Governance Specialist to join their team. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the management, maintenance, validation, review, implementation, communication, and monitoring of the Calculations Governance Framework for all business calculations related to processes, products, and services at BMW Group Financial Services UK and Ireland (SF1-UK and SF1-UK-IE) in line with the relevant Governance Regulation and FCA Guidelines including Consumer Duty.
- Map all at BMW Group Financial Services UK and Ireland (SF1-UK and SF1-UK-IE) calculations in line with the newly created Calculations Governance Framework. Create a centralized repository of calculations to support all Business, Process, Systems and Product Owners.
- Develop and implement an ongoing Governance Framework to ensure the correctness, accuracy, compliance, and financial soundness of all calculations. Continuously validate the calculations associated with processes, financial products, and services, exploring and ensuring ownership among Business, Process, System and Product Owners for financial accuracy and correctness at BMW Group Financial Services UK and Ireland (SF1-UK and SF1-UK-IE) calculations.
- Provide analysis, validation, and rationale for customer remediation where calculations have not delivered expected and planned customer outcomes in line with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and the governance framework.
- Actively set out a future roadmap for the approach and resources associated with calculations governance management, collaborating with Business, Process, System and Product Owners to develop a blueprint for Calculations Governance Management.
- Manage relevant governance relationships and stay up-to-date with new legislation, guidelines, policies, and processes in the automotive, financial, and fleet industries.
- Be recognized as a Calculations Expert leading BMW Group Financial Services UK and Ireland (SF1-UK and SF1-UK-IE) with the analysis, governance, management, maintenance, and validation of financial calculations related to processes, products, and services. Provide calculation-related expertise, training, coaching, and mentoring to Business, Process, and Product Owners to further support and maximize awareness and knowledge of the calculations governance framework, approach, and support regime.
- Work with BMW Group Financial Services UK and Ireland (SF1-UK and SF1-UK-IE) Business, Process, System and Product Owners, as well as Pricing, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and IT to support the implementation of suitable controls, mitigating identified business risks, to support target market, consumer fair value, and good consumer outcomes through calculations associated with business processes, financial products, and services.
- Strong academic background, preferably a degree with a focus on mathematics or accounting, or extensive experience in financial modelling and data interrogation.
- Proven expertise in financial modelling, calculations, and data analysis, with the ability to accurately interrogate, interpret, and translate financial calculations.
- Knowledgeable in finance-related systems, databases, and accounting principles.
- Working understanding of specialist financial modelling tools/systems, data analysis tools/systems and/or associated financial software/systems for example: Advanced Excel, SAS, SAP, Oracle SQL.
- Experienced in financial calculation and modelling, with leadership exposure.
- Keen interest in mathematical formulas, modelling, pricing, and governance alignment.
- Experience or exposure in financial governance, using Lean, Agile, or similar methodologies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and flexible communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong prioritisation and workload management skills, with a self-motivated and collaborative approach.
- Keeping up to date with Regulatory Requirements including Consumer Duty and FCA Guidelines including Consumer Duty.
- Commercial Awareness and Customer Centricity.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Fleet Management and Quotation Systems as Fleetware, ICON, FAMOS, SEAL would be advantageous but not essential.
