Job Summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced Fire Security Engineer to join our Fire & Security Systems Operations Field Service team. As an Apprentice Fire Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of Preventive Maintenance (PPM), Reactive calls, and additional Small Works, while maintaining compliance with all Legal and Regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fire Extinguisher Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire Extinguishers and associated equipment to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards.
  2. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records in a timely manner.
  3. Health and Safety: Work to high levels of Health and Safety Requirements, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  4. Professional Development: Participate in company-initiated training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical aspects of the role.

Requirements

  1. Experience and Skills: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in the Fire & Security Systems industry, is essential. Experience with service testing and inspection to the relevant standards/codes, including fault-finding techniques, is also expected.
  2. Technical Knowledge: Strong technical and problem-solving abilities, with knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, preferably in the engineering field.
  3. Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
