Job Summary
The Pricing Manager will play a crucial role in driving our pricing strategy, leveraging technical skills and experience to deliver significant improvements to our pricing models, capabilities, and analysis. This role will also involve leading a team of Analysts, empowering them to be pioneers in the pricing space and make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate the use of advanced modelling and analytical techniques to identify and implement groundbreaking improvements to our pricing algorithms.
- Utilize and demonstrate a deep understanding of pricing, modelling (including Data Science techniques), and price optimisation to deliver uplift in model outcomes.
- Own major modelling projects from inception to implementation, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Lead the identification of challenges and opportunities by interpreting data and presenting actionable recommendations.
- Own sign-off meetings with senior members of staff, gaining approval for recommended changes and taking responsibility for articulating business benefits, risks, and methodology used.
- Manage, empower, and develop a team of Analysts through mentoring, coaching, and upskilling on technical abilities.
- Ensure all implemented models align with regulatory and fair value measures, escalating and owning any breaches.
Requirements
We're looking for a candidate with:
- A passion for data, analysis, and drawing meaningful insights from data to inform business decisions.
- Experience in a Pricing Manager role with extensive knowledge of the UK Motor or Home insurance products/markets.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, lead, and mentor a team.
- Significant experience in delivering statistical models, such as GLMs, GBMs, or other relevant techniques.
- Strong governance awareness to ensure models implemented adhere to regulatory and fair value measures.
- Experience with Radar and other insurance pricing software, such as Emblem.
- Good experience with statistical software, including SQL, SAS, or Python.
