We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Ledger Accountant to join our team at Edwards & Pearce - Doncaster. As a Sales Ledger Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the sales ledger and credit control functions of our client's business.
Key Responsibilities:- Process and reconcile sales invoices and credit notes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage pro-forma accounts to ensure payment is received before goods are dispatched.
- Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debts from company debtors.
- Be the point of contact for all credit control issues for your ledger.
- Handle disputed accounts and negotiate overdue accounts to bring payment in line with our terms and conditions.
- Keep detailed credit control notes on the system and regularly send customer statements.
- Reconcile customer balances and process customer payments to the ledger and customer records.
- Generate reminder letters and monthly statements as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
- Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Identify slow-moving debts that may require a bad debt provision.
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on the relevant financials.
- Report daily sales actuals against targets.
- Identify sales trends and provide feedback to management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly debtor reports.
- Proven experience in sales ledger and credit control functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
