Lecturer - SEND (Complex Needs) - Academic Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer - SEND (Complex Needs) to join our team at Barking & Dagenham College. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students, providing inspiration, skill, and practical experience to support their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and effective lessons, including the creation of schemes of work, to meet the needs of our students.
- Assessment and Feedback: Design and implement learner-centered assessment methods, providing constructive and developmental feedback to support student progress.
- Student Support and Progression: Monitor and report on student attendance, progress, and achievements, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards and promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
- Personal Coaching and Pastoral Care: Provide personal coaching and pastoral support to designated students, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their goals.
- Industry Knowledge and CPD: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in your specialist area, ensuring that our students receive relevant and employable skills.
- Continuing Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching and assessment skills, staying current with the latest theories and practices in education.
- Qualifications and Experience: Possess a teaching qualification with a relevant subject specialism or be prepared to undertake a further education teaching qualification. Recent teaching and assessment experience in Functional Skills English or maths, as well as experience of teaching year-old learners with challenging behavior, is highly desirable.
- Administrative Skills: Demonstrate good administrative skills, including the ability to accurately track student attendance, progress, and achievements.
