About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Support Assistant to join our team at a reputable Nursery School in Dagenham. As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with SEND, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of community and belonging among students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized learning environment, ensuring a safe and healthy space for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a special educational needs setting, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEND.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
