We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a small secondary school in Chapel-en-le-Frith, catering for children aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide learning support and pastoral care to students with SEMH needs, working closely with the class teacher to manage classroom behaviour and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, adapting to their unique requirements and needs.
- Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support students with numeracy and literacy skills, embedding these into each lesson to promote academic progress.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including teachers, teaching assistants, and senior leaders, to provide a comprehensive support system for students.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative working environment, fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Minimum of two professional references.
- CV with full education and work history.
