About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our Catering Team at Musgrove Park Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Catering Food Safety HACCP, Trust policies, and procedures, as well as the Food Safety Act and Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, taking into account dietary requirements and patient feedback.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, minimizing risks to patients and staff.
  • Assist with the effective ordering, control, and management of stock levels.
  • Supervise catering assistants and promote high standards of catering.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • City & Guilds 706/1&2 or NVQ Equivalent.
  • Good standard of English & Maths.
  • Level 3 Award in Food Safety - Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Basic health & Safety Certificate and Allergen Awareness.
  • Experience in the preparation of therapeutic diets.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles and their specific application for catering.
