M&E Global Resources is seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Fairford, UK. As a key member of our dedicated workforce, you will have the opportunity to work on complex military equipment and aircraft for UK and US contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair company or government vehicles to ensure they are safe and dependable.
  • Complete maintenance tickets and repair orders in a timely manner.
  • Dispose of waste materials per regulations and policies/procedures.
  • Stay abreast of latest technology and installation procedures.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and isolate vehicle and equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot, trace, and locate defects and/or causes of mechanical problems to determine type and extent of necessary repairs.
  • Repair lighting systems, sirens, wheel bearings, radiators, heating and air-conditioning systems, springs, hydraulic systems, catalytic converters, and fuel pumps.
  • Utilize on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment to test automotive computer control and emission systems; assess and analyze malfunctions of machinery using microcomputers, calipers, gauges, and other equipment.
  • Interact with customers to keep them informed of status of vehicles, repairs needed, etc.
  • Inspect and test equipment for mechanical defects and replace worn parts.
  • Remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components.
  • Flush radiators and replace anti-freeze solutions.
  • Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, replace batteries, and trouble-shoot problems.
  • Perform engine tune-ups.
  • Utilize appropriate techniques and procedures in accordance with manufacturer's specification in armoring vehicles as directed.
  • Repair automotive locks.
  • Based on assignment, independently install new vehicle equipment, such as radios, sirens, wire cages, lights, etc.
  • Identify necessary parts, equipment, and supplies needed to complete repair or preventative check.
  • Estimate cost and labor time for corrective repairs.
  • Respond to emergency road calls for disabled vehicles and make minor adjustments or have the vehicle towed for back for repairs.
  • Road test vehicles during and occasionally upon completion of maintenance/repair work.
  • Respond to emails and telephone calls.
  • Ensure the necessary provision of vehicles and support for customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Package and Additional Benefits

We offer a competitive package and additional benefits, including a 12-month rolling contract, 40-hour working week Monday-Friday, and holiday entitlement. This is a great opportunity to work alongside the US Military, continue a career in contracting, or experience it for the first time.

We also offer a referral fee of £200 for anyone you refer to this contract that we hire. They must be a new referral, previously unknown to us, and complete 12 weeks of work on contract.
