Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Repair Vehicle Malfunctions: Utilize technical expertise to diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot vehicle malfunctions and repair problems.
- Maintain and Repair Company Vehicles: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles to ensure they are safe and dependable.
- Complete Maintenance Tickets and Repair Orders: Accurately complete maintenance tickets and repair orders in a timely manner.
- Dispose of Waste Materials: Dispose of waste materials per regulations and policies/procedures.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Latest Technology: Stay abreast of the latest technology and installation procedures to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Inspect and Troubleshoot Vehicle Malfunctions: Inspect, diagnose, and isolate vehicle malfunctions; troubleshoot, trace, and locate defects and/or causes of mechanical problems to determine type and extent of necessary repairs.
- Repair Lighting Systems and Other Components: Repair lighting systems, sirens, wheel bearings, radiators, heating and air-conditioning systems, springs, hydraulic systems, catalytic converters, and fuel pumps.
- Utilize Diagnostic Equipment: Utilize on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment to test automotive computer control and emission systems; assess and analyze malfunctions of machinery using microcomputers, calipers, gauges, and other equipment.
- Inspect and Test Equipment: Inspect and test equipment for mechanical defects and replace worn parts.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, replace batteries, and trouble-shoot problems. Perform engine tune-ups.
- Armoring Vehicles: Utilize appropriate techniques and procedures in accordance with manufacturer's specification in armoring vehicles as directed.
- Estimate Cost and Labor Time: Identify necessary parts, equipment, and supplies needed to complete repair or preventative check; estimate cost and labor time for corrective repairs.
