Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic

M&E Global Resources is seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Fairford, UK. As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing company and government vehicles, ensuring they are safe and dependable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair company or government vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Complete maintenance tickets and repair orders in a timely manner.
  • Dispose of waste materials per regulations and policies/procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and installation procedures.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle malfunctions, including issues with lighting systems, sirens, wheel bearings, radiators, heating and air-conditioning systems, springs, hydraulic systems, catalytic converters, and fuel pumps.
  • Utilize on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment to test automotive computer control and emission systems.
  • Interact with customers to keep them informed of the status of their vehicles and the repairs needed.
  • Inspect and test equipment for mechanical defects and replace worn parts.
  • Remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components.
  • Flush radiators and replace anti-freeze solutions.
  • Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, replace batteries, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Perform engine tune-ups.
  • Install new vehicle equipment, such as radios, sirens, wire cages, lights, etc., as directed.
  • Identify necessary parts, equipment, and supplies needed to complete repairs or preventative checks.
  • Estimate cost and labor time for corrective repairs.
  • Respond to emergency road calls for disabled vehicles and make minor adjustments or have the vehicle towed for repairs.
  • Road test vehicles during and occasionally upon completion of maintenance/repair work.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide support as needed.
