Job Title: Security Officer

Location: The Rock, Bury

Pay Rate: £ per hour

Working Hours: 30h per week

Shift Pattern: wed, thu, fri, sat

Job Overview

This role is the public face of the Security Team at Abm. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential position. You will ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service.
  2. Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment instructions, being proactive and vigilant.
  3. Continuously look for opportunities to assist visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever possible.
  4. Safeguard all areas of the site to ensure a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
  5. Manage incidents in accordance with site policies and procedures.
  6. Liaise with the site control room, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported.
  7. Report any unsecure areas of the site to the Control Room immediately and take action to resolve.
  8. Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives.
  9. Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies, ensuring the Centre team is kept fully informed.
  10. Display intelligent understanding of human behavior, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies.
  11. Maintain vigilance and manage unauthorized access by banned individuals.
  12. Adhere to radio procedures.
  13. Record all events/incidents in the Security Officer notebook correctly and adhere to notebook policies.
  14. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
  15. Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave.

  3. Take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary.

  5. Respect all staff and visitors within the shopping centre.
Documents/Information Required


• Valid SIA Licence
• 5-year checkable background
• Over 18 years old
• Documentation demonstrating eligibility to work within the UK
