This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Travelex, as we aim to expand our global presence by providing seamless travel money solutions. This role is integral to a dynamic and results-oriented Product Team, dedicated to delivering strategic, customer-focused solutions.

The User Experience Designer will focus on improving usability while aligning with established business objectives across Travelex's digital platforms. This will involve thorough discovery, definition, and design processes. You will be responsible for creating production-ready designs for web, mobile applications, and other Travelex interfaces.

Collaborating closely with front-end developers, you will ensure that the designs implemented in the live environment reflect your design specifications. You will also enhance and evolve the Travelex design system, ensuring that UI components and patterns are consistent and adhere to best practices. By working with other team members, you will conduct UX research, analyze results, and translate insights into actionable design recommendations.

Key Responsibilities and Decision-Making Authority

  • Developing production-ready design assets for web, mobile applications, and other digital devices within the Travelex product ecosystem.
  • Creating intuitive user interfaces and experiences for customers, staff, and other users of Travelex's digital offerings.
  • Planning, designing, organizing, conducting, and reporting on user research activities.
  • Producing concept sketches, wireframes, prototypes, interaction specifications, and other artifacts to support an effective user-centered product development process.
  • Maintaining and advancing the Travelex design system.
  • Aiming to eliminate design debt and achieve uniformity across all Travelex digital interfaces and platforms.
  • Creating components, patterns, and solutions that consider various contextual use cases to ensure Travelex's digital products are accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly.
  • Applying UX research findings, design principles, and usability heuristics effectively.
  • Collaborating with Product and front-end engineering teams to ensure optimal outcomes from a visual and interaction design perspective.
  • Presenting and justifying design choices to the Product team and other senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Required:

  • Process-oriented with a meticulous approach to digital asset creation, file management, and project documentation.
  • Experience in applying brand styles to digital products and services.
  • Understanding of usability, interaction design, and research theories and principles.
  • Experience in developing sketches, wireframes, and other design artifacts for digital design projects.
  • Strong UI skills with knowledge of designing for various media types.
  • Practical understanding of the UX role within agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret and apply data, UX research, and insights to inform design decisions.
  • Pragmatic approach, balancing user needs with business objectives.
  • A question-driven, user-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to present confidently, actively listen, and engage in discussions during Product meetings.
  • A passion for continuous learning and skill development in UX and UI design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a global company or corporate environment with remote teams.

Technical and Professional Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in building and managing design systems in Figma, with a focus on variables and modes.
  • Working knowledge of multivariate testing and personalization platforms.
  • Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office 365, Miro, Trello, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies and industry changes.
  • Experience designing web and native solutions, supported by a portfolio of relevant projects.
