Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Process Engineer to join our team at Jaguar Land Rover. As a key member of our KD Operations, you will be responsible for the end-to-end setup, maintenance, and delivery of packaging development for all parts shipped through our Imports and Exports Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute packaging development activities to ensure a plan is in place for every part packed through our Imports and Exports Operations function. This includes:
    1. Identifying and visualizing parts
    2. Designing packaging locations and structures to safeguard part integrity while optimizing cost, environmental, and container density/optimization capabilities
    3. Creating and maintaining packaging specifications and instructions
    4. Driving cost and environmental continuous improvements
  2. Provide hands-on operation support responding to queries and andon issues to ensure production is maintained
  3. Project manage packaging trials as appropriate, ensuring effective communications, allocation of responsibilities, risk assessments, and feedback
  4. Liaise with designated 3rd party partners to ensure Dangerous Goods requirements are met, including arranging appropriate testing and certification of packaging as required by relevant legislation
  5. Identify engineering changes at part number level and update current packing processes to aid component identification with our 3PL Packing Partner
  6. Develop packaging and processes for new model lines as and when required
Requirements
  • Previous experience in packaging development and application to manufacturing
  • Background in supply chain for packaging
  • Proficiency in relevant business systems, including MS Office, SAP, and CMMS
  • Understanding of current Business Objectives/Behaviours
  • Effective communication skills at all levels both internally and externally
