The successful candidate will be responsible for managing utility administration across the property portfolio, including accounts administration, purchase ledger, and billing support.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Registering utility invoices and managing incomplete, rejected, and held invoices to payment
  • Updating and maintaining utility spreadsheets for meter readings, usage, queries, contracts, billing dates, and change of tenancies
  • Managing tenant utility recharges
  • Liaising with utility suppliers, managing supplier statements, and applying for credits/refunds
  • Managing utility contracts, including liaising with brokers
  • Investigating high usage properties to reduce energy consumption
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of business rates and council tax instalments
  • Registering and reconciling utilities, rates, and council tax direct debits
  • Managing the purchase ledger for certain key supplier accounts and supporting purchase ledger as cover
  • Billing and receipting support
  • Coding and posting journals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliation for utilities account
  • Audit support preparation

Requirements:



  • Experience in a similar role is ideal but not essential (must have excellent administrative skills)
  • Excellent numeracy and accuracy
  • IT literate with excellent Excel skills (strong at manipulating and structuring data)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable working style
  • Team player
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Organised and capable of coordinating cross-departmental processes
  • Self-motivated
