Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Production Operatives, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance team skills and productivity.
- Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews and support employee development, collaborating with HR on employee relations and conflict management within the team.
- Process Improvement: Ensure all SOPs, training guides, and support materials are utilised to drive continuous improvement, onboarding, and staff retention.
- Production Scheduling: Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards, collaborating with the Operations Manager and Planner to adjust production schedules as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet quality specifications and standards, working with the Quality team to resolve any quality issues.
- Safety and Compliance: Partner with the Health and Safety Manager to promote a safety-first culture, identifying and mitigating potential safety risks in the production area.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs, analysing production data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Communication and Engagement: Act as an ambassador for communication and engagement with all team members, supporting and mentoring the production team in continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a production environment.
- Excellent people management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organisational, planning, delegation, and supervisory abilities; results-driven with a focus on team collaboration.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires high levels of concentration.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage high-volume workloads efficiently.
