About the Role:

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing production activities across two departments, managing direct and agency staff, and collaborating with the Operations Manager and other departments to meet production goals, ensure quality standards, and foster a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance team skills and productivity.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee relations and conflict management within the team.
  • Ensure all SOPs, training guides, and support materials are utilised to drive continuous improvement, onboarding, and staff retention.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Planner to adjust production schedules as needed, responding to unforeseen issues such as machine breakdowns or material shortages.
  • Ensure proper documentation of production activities and generate performance reports.
  • Ensure all products meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Work with the Quality team to resolve any quality issues.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety risks in the production area.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Analyse production data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with other departments such as maintenance, quality, purchasing, and business development to ensure smooth operations.
  • Report production progress, challenges, and performance metrics to Senior Management.
  • Be fully accountable for the performance and output of the production team, ensuring KPIs are met and deadlines achieved.
Requirements:
  • Excellent people management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organisational, planning, delegation, and supervisory abilities.
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional tasks when needed.
