We are seeking a dedicated Operations Supervisor to become a vital part of our team at Thurlestone Hotel & Spa.

Live-in accommodation is available in our newly renovated staff quarters, conveniently located within a short walking distance from the hotel.

Thurlestone Hotel & Spa is a prestigious, family-run, 4-star establishment featuring 65 luxurious rooms along the breathtaking South Devon coastline. Our amenities include the 2 AA Rosette Trevilder Restaurant, Voyage Spa, a 9-hole golf course, The Village Inn Pub, and a variety of recreational facilities such as tennis, squash, and a seasonal kids club.

Role Overview

As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the hotel's daily operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, the seamless operation of all departments, and the effective management of hotel resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist Department Heads to guarantee the efficient operation of their areas and help resolve any issues to ensure a smooth guest experience.
  • Uphold the highest standards within the hotel, taking personal responsibility for ensuring every guest experience is flawless, and actively engaging with guests.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff during shifts, with a particular focus on minimizing risks related to fire safety.
  • Allocate time to interact with guests to confirm their satisfaction with food, service, and any other concerns.
  • Address all guest complaints and be knowledgeable about the guest feedback procedures as outlined by management.
  • Perform duties as per the early/late duty checklist, including overnight responsibilities when necessary.
  • Assist with minor maintenance issues and communicate with the Maintenance team as needed.
  • Be proactive in other departments as required and be available to cover staff shortages.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests or tasks as directed by management.
  • Act as a substitute for Department Heads when necessary.
  • Manage beverage deliveries and oversee stock from the cellar.
