Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Hemel Hempstead, UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of geotechnical projects and demonstrating technical, commercial, and site management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake Phase 1 desk studies to identify potential geotechnical risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with clients, engineering supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Set up and organise ground investigation works, including drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing.
  • Supervise intrusive investigation activities and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Process field and laboratory results, and prepare reports for clients.
Person Specification:
  • BSc degree level qualified in geology, civil engineering, or a related environmental subject.
  • Previous UK ground investigation site experience is essential.
  • MSc in a geotechnical or engineering geology discipline is preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards.
  • Familiarity with geological maps and published geological data.
  • Basic understanding of water, ground, and soil gas monitoring techniques.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and be flexible to work nationally or internationally.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Working towards chartership with the Geological Society or equivalent.
