About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for a wide range of projects, from small to large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical engineering systems for various project types and sizes
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent high-quality services for clients
  • Develop and lead mechanical services design on large projects and take overall lead on small to medium-sized projects
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills
  • Monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered, working with the team leader to ensure financial astuteness
  • Look for new ways of working and take time out for innovation and research to stay ahead of competitors
  • Create and maintain a high reputation within the local industry and ensure adherence to quality management and risk control procedures

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Services Engineering
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment with excellent communication skills and a team-based work approach
  • Experience across a range of projects, with a focus on Science and Research projects desirable
  • Proficient in the latest computer modeling design software, such as Revit and BIM
