Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Highway Engineer with a leading consultancy in Nottinghamshire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering civil engineering projects and providing specialist engineering services to enhance and maintain the local road network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage the delivery of highway and civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, programme, and financial targets are met.
  • Provide technical and cost advice to colleagues, clients, and external bodies to support the delivery of complex projects.
  • Manage the evaluation and authorisation of externally designed engineering schemes to ensure compliance with regional and national design specifications and safety standards.
  • Consult with clients and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and maintain a positive company reputation.
  • Represent the company at professional, business, and community events to promote individual schemes and the company's expertise.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject, with relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering design environment.
  • Strong ICT skills, including competence in specialist computer applications used to support highway design and civil engineering activities.
  • Working knowledge of current highway design and civil engineering standards, contracts, and procedures.
  • Experience of providing information, communicating, and working collaboratively with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and colleagues to achieve delivery objectives.
  • Experience in managing project budgets and financial reporting of project programme.
  • Experience in all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on-site.
