Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Team Lead to join our dynamic Strain Development Division. As a key member of our research team, you'll be responsible for leading the development of transformation methods and genetically engineered strains that meet our target product profile. Your expertise in insect biology, transformation, and husbandry will be instrumental in driving our research forward and ensuring the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Team Lead, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading a small team of researchers in the development of transformation methods and genetically engineered strains.
  • Conducting experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results to inform project decisions.
  • Collaborating with our molecular biology department to ensure rapid feedback on strain characterisation.
  • Designing and running experiments independently, while aligning with program goals and objectives.
  • Characterising the behaviour and biology of transgenic strains.
  • Maintaining insect colonies and ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations.
  • Managing and training direct reports in line with SOPs and training records.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience with insect/arthropod transformation and a strong background in entomology, biology, or biochemistry.
  • An MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent timekeeping standards and responsiveness.
  • Proficiency in R/R Studio or Excel and experience in using statistics.
