BMS Engineer - Facilities Management Provider – Commercial Sector

Our client is seeking a BMS Engineer to join their team within the commercial sector. The successful candidate will possess experience in BMS and controls engineering. The role will encompass both Planned and Reactive Maintenance tasks for all BMS systems, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical environment systems, ensuring optimal uptime.
  • Respond to BMS & EMS alarms for designated sites.
  • Develop and maintain all site-specific mechanical and controls procedures, ensuring compliance with client standards.
  • Manage incoming alarms and communicate effectively with the customer service desk.
  • Provide clear updates on actions taken in response to BMS alarms.
  • Remotely reset units and adjust temperatures as required.
  • Compile weekly Battery Monitoring reports and oversee UPS discharge reports during maintenance.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports for clients.
  • Monitor BMS & Alarm Systems for efficiency.
  • Report on incident management and suggest improvements.
  • Review switching schedules for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks in accordance with System Control standards.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager to align with shift teams.
  • Ensure all BMS controls and equipment are calibrated and functioning optimally.
Qualifications
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering (preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering).
  • Relevant Technical Certifications (e.g., City & Guilds in Electrical Installation, NVQ in Engineering Maintenance).
  • Certification or extensive training in BMS systems such as Trend, Honeywell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
  • Experience with BMS software platforms and control systems.
  • Prior experience in data centres or similar critical environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of BMS and building services.
