Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee significant projects, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial standards.
  • Ensure quality assurance for deliverables produced by your team.
  • Cultivate and enhance client relationships.
  • Strategically pursue new client opportunities and develop influential networks.
  • Lead the creation and approval of project proposals.
  • Influence the evolution of our services, products, and strategic direction.
  • Serve as the primary expert for our esteemed clients.

Candidate Expectations

Applicants should possess a relevant degree in science or engineering, along with strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required for Senior grade, while Principal grade candidates should have at least 10 years of proven expertise. While comprehensive experience in all areas is not mandatory, a broad background or specialization in the following is essential:

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation, particularly in technical safety contexts.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as FLACS-CFD, KFX, ANSYS Fluent / CFX, or FDS for analyzing fluid dynamics, dispersion, explosions, and fire behavior.
  • Modeling of fire, explosion, and toxic gas consequences using specialized software (e.g., PHAST, FRED).
  • Conducting Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and other technical safety evaluations using commercial software (e.g., SAFETI, SHEPHERD).
  • Fire and Gas Mapping expertise.
  • Conducting Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) studies.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and VBA.
  • Development of custom modeling tools using VBA / Python / C#.
  • Demonstrating ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principles.
  • Project planning and management capabilities.
  • Proposal writing and bid coordination experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale CFD projects utilizing High-Performance Computing (HPC) and cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with reliability software for Fault Tree Analysis and RAM studies.
  • Involvement in COMAH Safety Report and Safety Case development.
  • Experience in facilitating hazard identification workshops such as HAZOP, LOPA, and HAZID.
  • Knowledge of barrier management and bowtie analysis.
  • Competence in DSEAR Risk Assessment and Hazardous Areas Classification.
