Position Overview
Location: Aberdeen
- Competitive hourly wage
- Full-time: 40 hours per week
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 06:30 - 15:00
- Annual leave: 20 days
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for operating loading shovels, forklifts, and tele-handlers throughout the facility, loading various types of vehicles including curtain-sided trucks, shipping containers, and bulk haulage walking floors.
Your tasks will include:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of fixed machinery, including baling machines.
- Performing pre-operational safety checks and operator inspections.
- Conducting daily maintenance and inspections of mobile and fixed plant equipment.
- Guiding customer vehicles to designated disposal areas and assisting with unloading as necessary.
- Supporting Sampling Operatives in the collection of output samples.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the site.
- Assisting Production staff during end-of-shift clean-ups and plant downtime.
- Contributing to lean and 5S initiatives to uphold a clean and efficient workplace.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure a cost-effective operation.
- Performing any other reasonable duties as requested within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
- Ideally, we seek an experienced plant operator with relevant CITB/CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
- A proactive team player is essential, as you will work closely with the existing site team to ensure operational excellence.
- Flexibility in your work approach is advantageous, as you may be required to cover for colleagues during absences.
- A commitment to safety and a willingness to embrace change for continuous improvement is crucial.
- Previous experience in the waste management sector or high-volume production environments is beneficial but not mandatory.
