About the Role

The Regional Workforce Transformation Fellow will play a key role in developing leadership and programme management skills in a supported environment. This unique opportunity will enable the postholder to work on regional projects, aligned with national policies, within a team responsible for the implementation of the Long-Term Workforce Plan (LTWP) in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting specialties in identifying workforce needs in response to expansion and distribution
  • Supporting the development of the medical workforce, including locally employed doctors, SAS, and the educator workforce
  • Analysing existing data and evidence on existing and transformative workforce, acting as an expert collaborator for individual Trusts
  • Working with Trust clinical and education leads and with ICS workforce boards to define and plan the implementation of potential solutions
  • Championing workforce transformation tools (FasterClass, STAR, CLEAR, distribution Toolkit) to providers
  • Attending meetings and providing updates on workforce transformation projects within specialties

  • Essential Experience and Knowledge:

    • Understanding of health and social care policy and context
    • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
    • Considerable experience of working in a management role at senior level within the NHS
  • Essential Qualifications and Training:
    • Clinically qualified and registered with a regulatory body
    • Masters Level or equivalent in a relevant field, with level of experience
    • Evidence of continuing professional development
    • Extensive knowledge of specialist area acquired through postgraduate education or equivalent experience
