We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Team Manager to lead our Health Promotion Team at Turning Point. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of our smoking cessation services, including the development and implementation of effective interventions and strategies to support individuals in achieving their health goals.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Service Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to the Health Promotion Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of our service users.
- Service Development: Develop and implement effective smoking cessation interventions and strategies, including the management of a team of Health Promotion Workers to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, effective interventions.
- Team Management: Line manage a team of Health Promotion Workers, providing supervision and day-to-day management to ensure the team is working effectively to achieve its goals.
- Professional Development: Support the professional development of the Health Promotion team, ensuring that all team members have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver high-quality services.
- Service Improvement: Identify areas for service improvement and develop strategies to address these, ensuring that our services are always improving and meeting the needs of our service users.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrable leadership skills and a flexible and adaptable leadership style.
- Operational Management: In-depth understanding and ability to operationally and performance manage the functions of the team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) with the ability to adapt to respond to staff, commissioners/partners and service users.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Resilience: Ability to remain calm and resilient in high-pressure environments.
- Smoking Cessation Expertise: In-depth understanding of smoking cessation delivery, including the ability to deliver smoking cessation interventions at NCSCT practitioner level.
- Community Engagement: Understanding and ability to successfully apply effective community engagement principles to own and others' work.
- Health Improvement: Up-to-date knowledge of the broad health improvement agenda, including understanding and adopting appropriate policies, principles, research and best practice guidelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Management Experience: Previous experience managing similar services/teams.
- Management Qualification: Management qualification or equivalent.
- Specialist Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the needs of people with a higher prevalence of smoking, including drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues, prison leavers/probation, pregnant women.
