Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Somerset Division

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Somerset division as part of our global specialist equipment manufacturer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, set up, and optimize processes within the allocated manufacturing cell.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities and projects to design or optimize, prove, implement, and maintain cell layouts.
  • Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell, including the authoring of safe systems of work.
  • Specify and purchase the appropriate tooling and equipment for the allocated manufacturing cell.
  • Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance with current regulations in terms of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Own and be accountable for resolving or supporting any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree, qualification, or equivalent.
  • Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures, and work instructions.
  • Experience in optimizing production processes as well as providing production support.
  • Experience of problem-solving and utilizing root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Full comprehension of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Implementing the principles of Lean manufacturing.
  • Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  • MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
  • Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.
