Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Randstad Technologies Recruitment is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's team in Clevedon. As a global company, they specialize in manufacturing special purpose machinery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Lean manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing cell layouts to enhance production flow.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities and projects to drive process excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and implement changes.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Specify and purchase tooling and equipment for manufacturing cells.
  • Eliminate routing and material variances to optimize production.
  • React to production feedback and manufacturing lessons learned to influence design revisions.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Process documentation authoring and writing of procedures and work instructions.
  • Experience in optimizing production processes and providing production support.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in MS Office and similar applications.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Tooling design and development skills.
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics.
  • Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  • MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
  • DFM/PFMEA awareness.
  • Experience in implementing change and change management.
  • Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.

This is a full-time permanent position with a salary bracket of 37,000-45,000 depending on experience, plus a 7.5% annual bonus and other benefits. The role will be fully on-site.
